# Urdu-speaking Discord servers

Urdu brings together one of Discord's most poetic communities. Urdu servers connect people from Pakistan, India and a large diaspora in the Gulf, the UK and North America, and alongside gaming and cricket you will find something rarer: literature channels where members trade couplets from Ghalib, Faiz and Iqbal, discuss contemporary poets and share their own ghazals and nazms. Mushaira-style voice events, where members recite poetry in turn, are a highlight of some communities.

The everyday side is just as lively. Mobile titles such as PUBG Mobile and Free Fire are especially popular, PC gaming communities are growing, and cricket servers peak during international fixtures and the PSL. Study servers support students through matric, intermediate and university exams. Script is worth checking before you join: some servers write in Nastaliq, others in Roman Urdu, and many mix in English. A good server states its preference and welcomes people either way.

Diaspora communities have a character of their own. Second-generation members often use these servers to strengthen their Urdu, and many communities are patient with people who understand far more than they can write. If that describes you, look for servers that mention learners or bilingual chat.

DiscoListing staff turn away Urdu listings built around cricket betting or match-fixing tips, account and currency sales in mobile games, and exam leaks, and they reject any community spreading sectarian or ethnic hatred. Servers with younger members need visible moderators and must not allow adults to pull minors into private chats.

Ramadan and Eid often bring special events, from late-night voice gatherings to recipe and poetry threads.
