Drawing Discord servers

About Drawing Discord servers

Drawing communities are about the practice itself. Where art servers often focus on finished pieces, drawing servers celebrate sketchbooks, gesture studies, daily doodles and the slow work of improving fundamentals. Common features include daily drawing prompts, sketchbook threads where members post progress over months, timed figure-drawing sessions using reference sites, study groups working through well-known drawing books, and channels for traditional media such as graphite, ink and markers.

The best drawing servers make practice feel social. Look for regular timed sessions in voice or stage channels, accountability threads where members post daily, and beginner-friendly spaces where nobody is embarrassed to share a wobbly first attempt. Fundamentals channels covering anatomy, perspective, construction and shading are especially useful if they link to good references and tutorials. A culture of encouragement matters: comparing your work to others is natural, but good communities celebrate progress over polish.

DiscoListing staff review drawing servers to make sure they are what they say they are: places to practise and share. We reject servers that repost others' drawings without credit or that use reference channels to distribute copyrighted books and courses. Figure drawing communities should handle nude reference responsibly, keeping it within clearly marked, age-restricted channels or properly age-gated servers, and sexualised content involving minors is banned.

If you want to build a drawing habit, start a sketchbook thread in a supportive server and post every day, even if it is just five minutes of doodles. Looking back after a few months is one of the most motivating experiences an artist can have.
