About ERP Discord servers
ERP, short for erotic roleplay, is collaborative adult storytelling: two or more writers create characters and play out romantic or sexual scenes in text. On Discord, ERP communities range from small partner-matching servers to large settings with lore, character sheets and dedicated scene channels. Many grew out of general roleplay communities that wanted a separate, clearly age-gated space for mature storylines.
Because ERP involves writing intimate scenes with strangers, the good communities are built around consent and boundaries. Look for servers that ask writers to publish "limits" (things they will not write) alongside their characters, use out-of-character check-ins before and during scenes, and let anyone pause or end a scene without explanation. Partner-request channels should require writing samples and preferences up front, and moderators should take action against members who push past someone's limits or keep messaging after being turned down. Literacy expectations vary, from casual paragraphs to long literate posts, so check the rules before applying.
DiscoListing applies its strictest rule here without exception: every character must be an adult, and characters who are presented as minors, or who are described as adults but depicted with a child's body or behaviour, are banned no matter the setting or claimed age. Servers that allow it are removed and their owners blocked. ERP listings are only visible to signed-in members who have confirmed they are 18+ and opted in, and reviewers check for Discord age-restricted channels, an onboarding or verification step, and published content rules. Servers that sell scenes, commission explicit art in breach of these rules or redistribute members' writing are rejected.
If you are new to ERP, start in a server with a beginners' channel and a clear limits template. Writing out your own limits before your first scene makes it much easier to find partners whose stories fit yours.
