Role name previewEmbed accent bar

How to use the role color converter

  1. Enter a color as hex (#5865F2), RGB (88, 101, 242) or an integer (5793266).
  2. Read the same color in the other two forms and check the preview.
  3. Copy the form you need: hex for role settings, the integer for embeds and the API.

Common questions

Why does Discord use a number for colors?
The API stores a color as one integer: the hex code read as a base-16 number. #5865F2 is 5793266. Embed and role colors sent through the API use that form.
How do I set a custom role color?
Open Server Settings, then Roles, choose the role and pick Custom under the color swatches. Paste a hex code there.
Why does a role with color 0 show no color?
Zero means "no color" for a role, so the name falls back to the default. For true black use a value just above it, such as #000001.
