How to use the timestamp generator

  1. Pick the date and time you mean, in your own time zone.
  2. Choose a style: short or long time, short or long date, date with time, or relative ("in 3 hours").
  3. Copy the <t:…> code and paste it into any Discord message. Everyone sees it in their own time zone and language.

Common questions

How do Discord timestamps work?
You write <t:NUMBER:STYLE>, where the number is Unix time in seconds and the style is one letter. Discord replaces the code with a date or time shown in each reader’s own time zone.
What do the timestamp style letters mean?
t is short time, T is time with seconds, d is short date, D is long date, f is date and time, F adds the weekday, and R is relative time such as "2 hours ago".
Do timestamps work in embeds and bot messages?
Yes. They work in messages, embed descriptions and field values, and in most places Discord renders markdown. They do not render in embed titles, footers or author names.
