What are the Discord embed limits?

A title holds up to 256 characters, a description 4,096, and an embed can have 25 fields with a 256-character name and a 1,024-character value each. The footer holds 2,048 characters, the author name 256, and all the text in one message’s embeds together may not pass 6,000 characters.

Can I send an embed without a bot?

Yes. A channel webhook accepts the same embed JSON. Create a webhook in the channel’s settings under Integrations, then post the JSON to its URL.

Why does my embed color look different in Discord?

The color is only the bar on the left edge of the embed. The background follows each reader’s own light or dark theme and cannot be set.
