How to use the permissions calculator

  1. Tick each permission your bot or role needs.
  2. Copy the resulting number. That integer is the permissions written the way Discord stores them.
  3. Put it in the permissions part of a bot invite link, or use it in API calls that take a permission value.

Common questions

What is a Discord permissions integer?
Each permission is one bit of a large number. Adding the bits of the permissions you want gives a single integer that stands for the whole set.
Should my bot ask for Administrator?
Almost never. Administrator grants everything and skips channel overrides, so many server owners refuse bots that ask for it. Request only the permissions your features use.
Why does my bot still lack a permission after being invited?
The invite only sets the permissions of the bot’s own role. Channel overrides can still deny them, and a role can only manage roles below it in the server’s role list.
